If you are an employee and wish to contribute to an American Funds 403(b) account, please check the Employer's List of 403(b) vendors to see if this Vendor holds a Active Payroll Slot. TRANSACTION PROCESSING ALERT: American Funds transaction documents may require a signature guarantee. If your transaction documents require a signature guarantee American Funds will require the original documents to process your transaction. To expedite the processing of a transactions requiring signature guarantee, please fax the transaction documents to CCC at 503-968-7802 with a cover notating you are sending originals to American Funds, then mail your original documents to American Funds with a cover sheet that states "plan administrator authorization to follow under separate cover". CCC will fax our authorization to American Funds (they do not require our original signatures). Please note that no loans or hardship distributions are allowed through American Funds
ENROLLMENT ALERT: The American Funds "New Participant Enrollment for 403(b) Basic Individual" account form instructs participant to remit the form to their employer then the employer is to send the form to American Funds. Please note that the account must be opened before your salary deferrals to the account may start. If you submit both and SRA and this enrollment form to the employer at the same time, the deferral on the SRA should reflect a start date that allows sufficient time for your employer to submit and American Funds to open your new account. If you submit the enrollment form to your employer to forward to American Funds it may be necessary to start your deferral on the payroll cycle following your next check to ensure the account has been opened and the remittance check will be accepted by the vendor. Please note that the enrollment documents do not require your employer's authorization under the plan. The enrollment process may be expedited by faxing the completed enrollment form directly to American Funds at 1-888-421-4371 prior to submitting an SRA to your employer. Once you have verified the account was established, remit your SRA with a copy of the enrollment form with notation of when the form was faxed to American Funds to your employer.
